The Adoption Journey Continues!

Like I said before blogging, writing, reading is not my cup of tea but I will continue to try and do my best.  Last I blogged we were raising money and getting things done.  The birth mother decided that she wanted her aunt to raise the baby.  After this we took a break from fundraising and our adoption journey.  Chad had a few more health issues that we had to get checked out and time flew by.
Last week I received a phone call from someone I know who was approached by a friend of her daughters that was interested in giving her unborn child up for adoption.  So now we are moving full steam ahead with our adoption journey again.  I will keep everyone updated as much as possible.  We now are trying to complete a homestudy, meet with a lawyer, meet with birth mother, etc.  We also need to continue to raise money in order to make our adoption journey happen.
We will be looking for ways to raise alot of money in a short period of time.  We will be having a garage sale on Dec. 1st at our house to start off again.  I will also be posting our Paypal donation option to facebook for people interested in donating that do not live here.  If anyone is interested, we can also pull out the baby bottles again.  We appreciate all the support that we continue to receive and it encourages us to continue on our adoption journey.

Just wanted to update everyone on what we have been up to.  We have turned in paperwork questionnaire to the social worker and will start working on getting the back ground checks and letters from doctors about our physical abilities.  We have been working hard all week.  We got the opportunity to earn $500.00 by painting and getting a house ready for rental.  It is alot of work but will be worth it in the end.  We still have some more to go before we complete the house.  I guess we will do about anything to raise money.  We have worked for three days straight, but needed to take tonight off.

Calling all Baby Bottles!  Of course this does not mean that you have to completely turn in your baby bottles but we want to go ahead and deposit some of the change if possible.  We will still keep baby bottles out because it is an easy fundraiser.  Every little bit counts.

March Fundraiser is a Thirty One Party online.  We will get 10% of all the sales.  If you are interested in purchasing items just click on the link provided below.  The fundraiser will end soon so shop away.

We will have brochures available soon to pass out to churches, doctors, and for fundraising.  We need two things to come together in order to complete our journey to adoption.  A child and the funds to complete the adoption.

We are planning a new fundraiser that will be selling Light Up Lip Gloss with mirror.  We have been told that this is very popular with females and dance groups.  It will be about a 50% profit for us.  If you are interested in some lip gloss or interested in helping sell it....please let me know.

I am also considering just a donation button through pay pal....If you have any other suggestions for fundraising, please let us know.  We have made some progress but have a LONG way to go.

Our next fundraiser is starting soon!

Blogging is not my strong point.  I guess I just have to make myself sit down and do it.  The baby bottle fundraiser has slowed down but I know there are still baby bottles out there.  We will continue to keep collecting as long as people keep filling them up.  Every little bit counts.  The two women that are the masterminds of  helping figure all the info for adoption, fundraising, baby searching effort are about to start something new by making a brochure for us to pass out.  I am sure they have some other ideas up their sleeve's.  I am very appreciative for their efforts and encouragement.  I hope that during the month of March we will be able to complete our home study and have that out of the way.  We had our Garage Sale this past Saturday and all I can say is WOW!  It was alot of work but well worth the profits we made.  We raised over 1,000 dollars at a garage sale.  I did not expect that much.  We were very fortunate to have numerous people donate items, come out and help, and also to spread the word.  I went to the bank to deposit the money and now the tellers at the bank know me from coming in and depositing the bottle money.  Its crazy I don't even have to tell them why I am there.  The teller, when I took the garage sale money, wants a brochure to place around the bank and see what she can do.  For March, Michelle Gibson Smith has been gracious enough to help us do a Thirty-one party to fund raise.  It will open online and last until the end of March.  I will send more details if you are interested in purchasing any items.  I am always looking for the next way to fund raise, so that we can reach our goal.  I also like to keep the excitement alive and change up the fundraising so that something will appeal to everyone.  Thanks for all of your support and help to reach our fundraising goal.

We are so appreciative of the donations for the garage sale.  We are moving the garage sale to Saturday, Feb. 25th due to possible weather and it will also give me more time to get everything ready.  Please spread the word!

Today was a crazy/ busy day at work.  I also found out today that the birth mother with the baby due in 2 months changed her mind and wants baby to go to an aunt and uncle instead.  We are not letting that stop us....we plan on pushing through and continuing on with the home study until the child god planned for us to have comes along.  I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for us and we are not meant to understand why things happen the way they do or when they do.  Maybe this was just the jump start we needed to get motivated about adoption again....well it worked!  So this just means we will keep on fundraising and doing paperwork and be ready for the next little one.

Baby Bottle Fundraiser still going full steam ahead and we are still having a garage sale just nervous about this weekend and the rain...we will see.

All I can say is WOW at the page views and people that have shared it on Facebook.  We appreciate everyone being so supportive.  There are couple of things going on at the same time....1) Potential birth mother info and seeing if this is a possibility with our social worker.  2) starting home study process  3) Baby bottle fundraiser  4) Upcoming garage sale 5) getting some things done around the house 6) oh yeah and working and living.  Everyday I am multi-tasking to get things done, but everything is going good.  I started getting my CD collection together for the garage sale...Chad made fun of me because I am a music freak.  I have a very wide range in taste and ALOT of CD's.  He doesn't think any human should have so many CD's.  He is happy for them to be sold and I don't want to part.  I am ready for the garage sale to be here.  So this is just a little update.  We are filling out paper work!
