From our story you've seen that we have had a rough couple of years. We started the foster to adopt process a year and a half ago but we just put a halt to the process after we completed the mandatory classes. There is no rhyme or reason why. I think we were still not ready to continue on.
I received a call on Tuesday from a friend of mine that has set our Adoption Journey back in motion. We got the call that a baby would be born in two months and the mother was looking to give that child up. Chad and I talked about the phone call and are now ready to continue our journey. God has a plan for us and I have learned that only God knows what that is. It has taken this phone call to get us to think about adoption again. We have decided that whether it is this baby or another baby this is what we want to be doing. So with that being said our Journey has begun.
We have talked with a social worker and need to start our home study. We have a lawyer in mind. At the same time, my friend is working on the details of the baby that will be arriving in two months. One of our biggest challenges is funding our adoption journey. We have exhausted all of our funds on IVF, medical bills, etc. So we will have to rely solely on fundraising. In the past this has slowed us down but we are not letting that slow us down this time. My motto is "we will figure it out". If this is meant to be, God will help us find a way.
This is a very exciting and busy time for us. We are starting our fundraising effort immediately so we can get the home study completed. We will be starting with two fundraisers.
GARAGE SALE
Weather permitting we will be having a garage sale in two weeks. If you have items that you would like to donate to our garage sale please let us know. You can drop off the items or I can come pick them up. We appreciate anything you would like to donate. I'm not sure how many garage sales happen this time of year but we are going to try it. Feb. 4th and 5th

BABY BOTTLE FUNDRAISER
This week we start our "baby bottle" fundraiser Did you know you can send a baby bottle in the mail?
We are thinking creatively!
Our hope are for friends and family members to take some time and fill them with spare change or set them out at other locations to collect change. Once it is full it can be sent back to us . We are going to try and complete our baby bottle fundraiser by the end of February. If you would like a baby bottle, please let me know or you can start with your own baby bottle. If you would like the label or wording for your own baby bottle let me know. We know that we have so much support, and we hope people will spread our prayer to have the money needed to do so.

ReplyDeleteThe one thing I know is that God does have a plan. We may not understand what that plan is while we are going through life but what I have learned is that God has the perfect child already chosen to be yours. When God's timing is right, you will find each other. Know that I am praying for you and will do anything I can to help you with your journey!
